Ladies! We have nearly made it through the summer study! I hope if there are unread pages in your book that you will just continue along and enjoy them! However, there are fall Bible Studies that I would love to introduce you to that you may want to be a part of that begin in September. The fellowship is rich and the intake of the Word and accountability is priceless! The studies will be showcased for you at our August 11th celebration -- hope you are planning on being there!
The last chapters of Kay's incredible book, Speak to My Heart, God, cover the topic of grace! What a great place to end up and recall that grace is the place that our relationship with Jesus actually began. In the beginning we were saved by grace and Kay says so appropriately "Grace is the birthright of every child of God." But she goes on to explain that grace is not over at that point for it is the grace of God that sustains us through life and it will be the grace of God that ultimately saves us in the end to a wonderful place called heaven, for all of eternity. To quote her again, "...the same grace that saves us is the grace that keeps us, enabling us to survive day in and day out, no matter what!" We have not and will not ever go past the point of no return; nothing has or ever will be too much for God to forgive; we have not been, nor will we ever be, washed up for good; and we are not, nor will we ever be, a total lost cause -- all because grace does not allow us to go beyond the reach of our loving God! We all are "redeemable" because of Jesus Christ! He bought each and every one of us with His precious blood!
As I was walking into the second service on Sunday, several ladies stopped me on their way out of first service and I could tell on their faces and the excitement in their voices that they had just experienced true worship and heard a special word! One was bubbling from head to toe, but did not want to spoil it for me by telling me. I do not want to spoil it for you either, but I want to invite you to experience the Sunday morning service at Shadow Mountain if you have not done so already at www.shadowmountain.org --choose the "watch" tab at the top of the screen and select "on demand" to go to the archives and choose the Aug 1, 2010 service entitled "Law of Liberty". The music is outstanding and the message on grace is incredible, but you will especially enjoy hearing who Dr. Jeremiah uses as an example in his sermon of one who was "redeemable!" Don't miss it!
With lost souls on my mind (from last week) and amazing grace showing up everywhere this week, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to lead Pam to the Lord this Sunday! She accepted the free gift of grace and begins her grace journey--I told her the angels were having a party in heaven because of her decision! Also on Saturday I took the opportunity to share with a gentlemen who had one leg and an inoperative arm, and sat in a wheelchair as we waited in a store line. It all began with offering to let him go first, but it was clear that he was in no hurry and chose rather to have a conversation. I gave him a tract as we parted, and continue to pray that Wayne's "redeemable" soul accepts God's gift of grace so he will one day walk and run again, on two legs, in heaven -- and also get to see his mother.
We are in the homestretch and I hope you have next Wednesday, August 11th marked on your calendar! Come to the Lower Campus Chapel at Shadow Mountain for light hors'doeuvres at 5:30 if you can, but be in your seat by 6:00 for sure when the evening begins and Kay joins us promptly via skype. We are starting early because Kay is three hours ahead of us -- you will not want to miss her special words of encouragement as she joins us all the way from her home in Tennessee! The evening will continue with an old fashioned song and testimony time that will honor our Lord and also encourage us all as we bring this summer study to a close! I hope you will make plans now to be able to attend!
Basking in His unmerited favor -- His amazing grace!
